MAY-DAY CELEBRATION

Members of staff celebrated the 2010 May Day in style as they marched past at the Independence Square in Accra.

His Excellency John E. Atta Mills gave a speech about Unity and Peace after which the Public Sector Workers marched past the dais in turns.

After the display at the Independence Square led by the Local Union Secretary, Mr. Lawrence Acquaah, staff were treated to music, and refreshments at the SSNIT Guest House.

The Director-General, Dr. Frank Odoom with other Management Executive joined in the celebration to show their support.

Dr. Odoom congratulated staff for their loyalty and implored them to lift high the name of SSNIT everywhere they go. He exhorted them to continue to exhibit Unity so they can overcome the challenges facing the Trust.

The Local Union Secretary also encouraged staff to rally behind the Director-General and his Executive to achieve the vision of SSNIT. An award was later presented to Mrs. Gifty Anterkyi by Dr. Odoom on behalf of SSNIT Local Union Representatives for her contribution to the Union.
