1ST SSNIT ICT CONFERENCE 2010
The Trust held its maiden Information and Communication Technology Conference on Tuesday, 8th June, 2010 at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Accra.
The Director-General, Dr Frank Odoom in his address expressed his concern about the need to move the Trusts ICT development into a matured phase. This is because the level of manual activities in the Trusts business processes is undesirably high and is manifested in the duplication of processing activities at all levels, inadequate data and information on business activities.
He therefore urged the MIS Division to re-position itself to provide the needed leadership, technical expertise and play a lead role in the transformation of the Trusts core business and also increase co-operation with internal stakeholders.
Mr J.K. Inkoom indicated that the key goals of the MIS Division as indicated in the Strategic Plan,
vis-à-vis-
Achieve Efficient Management Information
Increase level Business Automation
Develop the Professional Capacity of MIS Division
Develop Software for the Implementation of the Pension Law, Act 766 of 2008.
These, he said, will be aligned to whatever ICT infrastructure and systems review the Division will undertake.
Two ICT consultants were invited to share their perspective on the way forward.
The chairman for the conference was Mr T.F. Ohene, Operations Co-ordinator
